What do about facial and body hair?

I am a 30 year old woman who has struggled with facial and body hair since puberty. In a desperate attempt to control it, I shaved my upper lip and under my chin while in high school. To keep up with it, I have to shave every morning and by evening you can totally tell that there is something ';not right';. I have PCOS and started metformin yesterday... any ideas on how quickly the metformin might slow the hair growth? Any ideas on how to remove the hair without shaving or spending thousands on lazer. My husband has never been bothered by it... but we are in the process of seperating and I'm guessing most men won't be intrigued by the shaving lines. What do about facial and body hair?
Metformin does not stop the hairgrowth. It slows it down. Metformin is usually given to prevent diabetes as well as other risk factors (atherosclerosis and heart disease). Metformin also helps control weight a bit.

As for the hair (hirsuitism), DO NOT SHAVE! Best thing is to wax or laser. There are many places which have time-payments for laser and in some instances, health insurance may cover some of it since you have a syndrome which causes it.

For now, bleach as the hair is growing. Once it reaches 1/4 inch, wax.

Laser works the best and although it claims to be permanent, some growth comes back, just not as bad as before,What do about facial and body hair?
i would recommend waxing it since ur already shavin...i wax n bleach parts of my body,,,, sometimes it may be a hormonal problem..try talkin to your doctor...your may produce more masculine hormonoes than femenine (we produce both)
Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.

Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.

Electrolysis and laser hair removal are ';permanent'; hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.

I have PCOS as well. And have been on metaformin for 2 months ...hmm honestly have not seen a difference .But do not shave their is facial wax ....it last longer .....also their is a method call threading at salons it leaves your face baby smooth and with longer results ....but I know some women for eas use neet for facial hair
Waxing is a lot better, doesnt leave anything behind.
Yes, I understand what you are going through, I have facial hair too, my husband doesn't seem to mind though. I wish there was something more I could do about it...
I have a friend with the same problem. We looked at all kinds of stuff to help her out and the thing with Lazar is it will still eventually grow back. Waxing and beaching are out of the question as we both know.

Finally after hitting one dead end after another we came across this older Japanese lady who gave us the magic cure. Go to the doctor and have the hormones and thyroid checked. That was all she needed to do all along.

She takes 1 pill a day and has had no other trouble since.

Facial hair is caused because women have to much testosterone in their body make up. All you have to do is to get that level back into check and it stops growing in about 3 weeks and never comes back.

It was not all that expensive either. The blood work ran her about 100.00 with the office visit, the medication runs her about 30.00 a month I think she told me. Hers was extremely bad. She is pretty fair complected and the hair grew in black. She would shave in the AM and by 7 or 8 at night the signs would be back and shaving again would only cause bad razor burn. She had to wait until the next morning.

Well I hope that helps you some, maybe someone else can come up with a better solution for you.

Be Well.
Laser hair removal! Expensive but SO worth it!
Have you tried waxing?
