cuz if you think about it...Russians look similar to English people. but Russia is part of Asia and England is an island in the West...





i mean of course everybody has common ancestry if you go back far enough, but it's pretty obvious it has more to do with your distance from the Equator than your direct lineage. i mean north asians look similar to icelanders, and if they have common ancestry its WAY back...same with african people and aborigines...
Light hair and blue eyes first started as genetic mutations. If you've seen and studied the hair and genes of the earliest people, then you can see that most have dark hair and dark eyes. It's common ancestry and common adaptation (Charles Darwin's theory) as time changes.
BTW to the guy that said that thing about Turkey - well Turks are actually far from being 100% white while Italians are only 80% ethnic European according to genetic studies. So I think its more common ancestry that originated from common adaptation.
It is probably a mixture of both





You get darker the farther south you go and the closer to Africa you go (look at Turkey, they are darkish)
