Why is it that Northern European men have less facial hair than men from other parts of the world?

I'd think the guys from somewhere as cold as Northern Europe would have more beard to keep them warm, why is it not this way?Why is it that Northern European men have less facial hair than men from other parts of the world?
Hair is a good insulator against the cold, so your confusion is quite understandable. Animals, human and otherwise, produce more hair in cold climates.

However, this does not necessarily include facial hair. Inuits (Eskimos) have very little facial hair as opposed to Vikings who were relatively recent migrants to cold northern climes.

The reason that facial hair was not beneficial in evolutionary terms is that it was dysfunctional.

Think about yourself on a very cold day. When you exhale, you can ';see your breath.'; But, what exactly is it that you see?

We exhale carbon dioxide, unused oxygenated air, and water vapor. The H(2)O mist can catch in the beard and mustache. During sleep, it can form an ice patch over the nose and mouth, causing suffocation.

So, no hairy faced Inuits! Why is it that Northern European men have less facial hair than men from other parts of the world?
I think your initial premise is wrong. The white race

is actually one of the hairiest, perhaps THE

hairiest of all human races. Asians, in particular

tend to have much less hair overall.
I think navy was right. Northern European men are more hairy in the face as well as on their bodies on the average. I am Irish/German on my mother's side and English/Polish on my father's and I can grow a thick facial beard when I let my whiskers grow out. The thickest and longest beards I have seen have been on people of Russian descent.
I wouldn't exactly say that. The Vikings seemed to have a lot of facial hair. And my ancestry is Scottish and just look at my photo.

I think you need to review some more data
The reason that Northern European men have less facial hair than men from other parts of the world is that they have more razors.

Also that if you look at their DNA, many have ';Asian'; backgrounds. Sure, you can't tell from the face, but it's in the blood.

Can I use facial cream bleach to highlight hair?

if i want to bleach just 1 or 2 thin streaks in my short brown hair to color afterwards with a light pink toner, is it ok to use facial/body cream bleach like Jolen? I know it's not made for this purpose and i should buy the proper one etc...but since I only want very few thin highlights would it work? thanksCan I use facial cream bleach to highlight hair?
I've never done this, so I don't know how it would work. I agree that you only need a small amount of bleach, and in a salon, they can mix up what they need. For home use, that is harder to do.

I would think the body bleach would work, but it may not be strong enough to remove enough of the colour that you need to get the pink. With your brown hair, I'm afraid you may only lighten it partially and get to the orange stage and no further. Then you still would need to get more bleach to continue to the lighter stage. You need to get it quite light in order for the pink to show up. If the hair is too dark, the light pink would just get lost in that stronger darker colour in your hair.

Sorry, I can't advise you further on this one. Can I use facial cream bleach to highlight hair?
Yes you can absolutely use a body hair bleach like Jolene to dye highlights in your head hair- just do a strand test or check you hair after 10min Report Abuse

Well, I dont think it would be very healthy for your hair, what with all the chemicals used now.

I think it would be more effective to try using proper stuff, and better, and you might face a few risks if you do use body cream, it might be unlikely but it could still be unhealthy for your hair.

If you want it done well, i would suggest a hair salon, but you could try.

Good luck!

Are there any products that can slow down my facial hair growth? ?

I have to shave every 3 days; it's really annoying. If there are products out there that work, are they proven to be safe? Are there any products that can slow down my facial hair growth? ?
Vaniqa is the only hair retardant prescription medication available to-date. Applied as a cream, Vaniqa is often used to remove unwanted facial hair.

Clarins 'Men Skin Difference', Origins for Men 'Fire Fighter Plus' and Clinique Skin Supplies for Men: Post-Shave Soother Beard Control Formula all promise to slow the growth of facial hair. These products have been proven to delay the growth of hair, pushing the ';5 o'clock shadow'; back until nearly midnight for some.

Manufacturers state that the key ingredients in hair retardants are plant extracts that interfere with growth in the follicles that produce facial hair.

One such plant extract, saw palmetto, has been used for years to inhibit enzymes responsible for regulating hair growth.

Laser hair removal is another option.

Facial hair does not make you a man; who you are on the inside is what makes you a man, however, if you want it to start gowing faster, start shaving. Even if you don't think you have anything to shave, shave anyway. This will not make you grow hair over night, but each time you shave off that peach fuzz the hair will begin to grow in a little thicker, darker and faster.I am 16,i have very less facial hair. How can i get facial hair fast?
Maybe your half man and half girl.
shave where you want it to grow and wala it will grown bak thicker if that doesnt work keep shavin over that area and eventually it will grow..
Not possible. Almost every young boy wants to see the day when they grow facial hair and for us the older guys, we wish we did not have any. I hate shaving every morning. You might hate it to in the future.
The more you shave the more your hair will grow. But it takes time. If it's any consolation, shaving is a pain!
it can't be done. sorry....u just got to live with it.

Go to your doctor and see what's out there. But there's no rush, guys that get facial hair sooner also get balder sooner.
There's no way to make yourself grow more facial hair; it'll grow whenever it's ready to-- why would you want to anyway? then you just have to shave more often or look all grungy and gross...
Some people thank that if you eat certain meals or foods.

I have severe facial sweating all the time! Is there any over-the-counter medicine i could use?

Severe facial sweating has been a part of my life since i was seventeen. It has held me back from certain jobs i really wanted. Who destroyed the facial features on the pyramids of Egypt and why?

Possibly the Christians or Muslims, who would have seen them as idols.

There's also a rumor Napoleon's troops used the sphinx for target practice.Who destroyed the facial features on the pyramids of Egypt and why?
I think you mean the features on the nearby Sphinx, as the pyramids had no facial features. The ones on the Sphinx were destroyed by an iconoclastic Sufi Muslim fanatic in the 1378 as he allegedly saw the local people worshiping the Sphinx. This report was first recorded in the 1400s by the local historian Maqrizi (1364-1442) so his report could be a primary account of something that he witnessed at the age of 14. The Muslim religion prohibits the making of statues of creatures, real or imaginary, and especially prohibits idolatry.

There are extant drawings made in 1737 and published in 1755 that show the the features as already missing, so it is unlikely that Napoleon's troops were the culprits. In fact, Napoleon ordered a major cultural survey of Egypt with illustrations hand drawn in huge books. It seems likely that he would have ordered elite guards to protect the Sphinx.

The damage is so irregular that it is unlikely that it is the result of weathering, especially as some parts of the Sphinx quite near the damaged ones are in relatively good condition.Who destroyed the facial features on the pyramids of Egypt and why?
The idea that the Sphinx was disfigured by religious fanatics or Napoleon's troops using it for target practice is usually seen by historical experts as myths.

The head of the Sphinx has been above the sand for over 4000 years and in that time it has been beaten by the sand and wind which would wear down and weaken the statue. It is likely that some people vandalized the face over the millenia BUT the majority of the damage is time and weather related.
The pyramids never had facial features.

The facial features on the Sphinx simply show the effects of over 3500 years of exposure to sun, rain, wind, and blowing sand.
Many stories about how the Sphinx lost its nose but it was really due to erosion and weather is why.

I hated proactive too! I have been using these products for months and my skin is the nicest its ever been.Whats the best facial cleanser for blackheads and acne?

I use a simple cleanser so that it dosent irritate my acne.
Try Acnexus!! Its really good and it also works as a microdermabrasion and it doesn't have harmful agents in it. Its much cheaper on ebay ($25) than retail which is $50. Also look into Juliet's Acne Kit. That is a good product too and also much cheaper on ebay.
i've been using clean and clear daily blackhead romover forever and i have a clear face with out even blackheads.use that then right after you rinse it of get a cotton ball and but rubbing acohol on it and run it over the areas where you have acne/blackheads it will help a lot.hope it works for you!
ill say it again and again, PHISOHEX, and continued use of the same product.
I agree that Clean and Clear works. I just started using it two days ago and see major results that I didnt expect. I had HUGE and I mean HUGE pimples on the right side of my face on Monday, its now Wednesday and my face is almost completely back to normal. Try that or Aveeno products.

How to make facial hair thinner?

My beard grows out really thick and fast and when I shave in the morning a 5 o'clock shadow is visible by afternoon. I don't like it at all and my confidence takes a blow because of this...........Does anyone know a way to make facial hair thinner (natural method preferred).

    Thanks,

DavidHow to make facial hair thinner?
You can't really do anything, but like she said, you can wax it (ouch!). But, with my experience, I usually am pretty quick and impatient with shaving, so I don't shave too well and the beard comes back much quicker, so basically just take more time with shaving or get a razer blade (they cut closer than electronic ones depending on the model) if your using an electronic one. But yeah, there's really nothing you can do other than taking the hair off in a different way.How to make facial hair thinner?

Your facial piercings are a part of who you are. Why remove them for your wedding? They won't be in your pictures and you won't look like yourself in them, which you will regret down the road.

From many of the replies, it sounds like a community that is more accepting of your ideas is www.offbeatbride.comShould all facial piercings be removed for my wedding ceremony?
Two things you have after your wedding- photos and your rings (and your spouse of course!)- while I don't think you should ';be someone you are not';... keep in mind that maybe in 10 or 15 years you might feel different and have to justify to your children why they can't do the same... This is really up to you. If your piercings are part of who you are, then keep them in. If you only have them for shock factor, you may want to leave them out. It all depend on how you think you will feel looking at your pictures in 10 or 20 years.

Personally if it was me, I'd leave them in! If you want more formal pics without them later you can always get formals done on an anniversary without them!

Since it's your wedding, I wouldn't worry about what anyone else thinks just what you and your fiance think!

    Good luck!
It is completely up to you and your partner. If you both like them and you wouldn't be the same with out them then you should leave them in. If you regret them - take em out.

    Have a good day
Well, Rivas, You are wearing a black dress and you are having black roses, and you want to know if you should remove your piercings? I guess that all depends if you are planning to be a bride or a freak for Halloween. It sounds like you already will look like you are attending a funeral. So, if you want to look like Mrs. Herman Munster, or Dracula's wife, then perhaps leave the piercings. Perhaps you need to learn the difference between a wedding and a Goth party. Have fun, whatever you do. Just don't expect Aunt Martha and Uncle Henry to appreciate your costume.
I do not like facial piercing jewelry of any kind, for one thing I find them enormously distracting and aesthetically unappealing. Provided that removing the same will not leave huge unseemly holes in your face, by all means do so for your special day.
i like facial piercings.. but i think when you're older you might look back at your wedding pictures and wish you had taken them out.
What would your family think when they look at the photos of the wedding with your piercings? Better yet, would you be willing to share the photos with a complete stranger and be proud of the piercings? Would you be ashamed or embarassed? The question isn't whether you should or shouldn't keep the piercings, the question is how will you and your family feel about the most important day of your life 50+ years from now. Chances are all they will remember is that you had roses and a dress that symbolize death and were overwhelmed with piercings.
The piercings are YOU,they're where you are right now.Why would you be embarrased for the kids to see that in the future? If anything,it'll give you a bit of cred in their' eyes, they'll be more inclined to express themselves to you.By all means,if they invited YOU to the wedding, they invited ALL of you.I'll tell ya something else, too. If I were attending this thing, you'd be recieving at least ONE invitation to dance :)(:
Umm. I honestly believe that one day you will grow up and maybe have children. And when that day comes your little girl will be asking about Mommies wedding and expecting to see pictures of her looking like a bride. Instead she will see Mrs Herman Munster and be disappointed.

In the future, when you are all grown up, I think you will regret your emo wedding attire
    ABSOLUTELY leave them out!

Get a more traditional color dress as well.

When you are older, you will regret being so avaunt garde

Honestly, no. I used it, and it made my arm break out believe it or not. So if it makes my arm break out, think about my face!
    No, it's not.

If there's not too much facial hair, do you really need to do anything? Most girls at 13 haven't got much more than the beginnings of a moustache and most guys are OK about girls having a slight moustache.

It may get considerably heavier over the next couple of years and if you then decide you have to do something about it because it's as heavy as a boy's moustache, then there isn't a simple answer.

Facial (and also body) hair on women comes about in the same way as on men because of

    1) your body being sensitized, before you were even born, to testosterone -- doesn't happen to all girls, but does to many

    2) your body producing high levels of testosterone

The growth rate and coarseness of the hair depends on just how much testosterone is circulating in your bloodstream.

Steer clear of bleaching -- when someone sees you against the light you'll look as if you have a glowing moustache and/or beard.

As far as removing it is concerned it's worth remembering that

    * Waxing, plucking, threading, epilating all pull the hair out by the roots and where the growth is hormonally-driven can actually stimulate a dormant follicle into producing more hair quicker. They also distort the root if done repeatedly, leading to hair growing at strange angles. And you've got to let the hair grow to quite a length before you can repeat the exercise. It can also damage the skin and discolor it. Long-term use of waxing also causes bad wrinkles.

    * Chemical depilatories strong enough to remove the hair are very likely to burn the skin, cause swelling and cause long-term discoloration of the skin.

    * Laser is also liable to cause burning and discoloration and in any case only works effectively on a dark hair/light skin combinantion.

    * Electrolysis is very liable to cause scarring and discoloration of the skin.

Which, like it or not, leaves shaving which does not damage the skin. Best done with a men's-style electric razor, the best of which, for women and girls, are probably those from the men's range of Norelco razors (Philishave outside the US). Most girls who try a men's Norelco wonder why nobody ever told them about it before.

Does any body know a really good moisturizing facial wash?

the skin on my face is really dry i tried everything from honey to proactive super moisture it can be home made or store boughtDoes any body know a really good moisturizing facial wash?
Most facial washes don't contain enough moisturizer to make a difference, so your best bet is to use a light moisturizer after washing your face. Use one that's formulated for your skin type. Think of it this way...a facial wash is made of soap, which is formulated to wash away dirt and oils from your face. How can you wash away oil, yet replace it at the same time? All it does is make your face feel less tight, but hasn't properly replaced the oils that it washed away. You'll have to experiment with different moisturizers, as there are so many out there, it would be impossible to direct you to just one. The product that I use might not work for you. Maybe you can e-mail a request for a sample from some of the major manufacturers, so that you don't have to buy a big jug and find out it stinks. Being that I'm an Avon lady, I can suggest that you call a local dealer and see if what Avon has will work for you. At least you can take the product back and get an exchange or your money back. Most stores won't do that, and at best will only give you a store credit. Most reps will have some samples, or even allow a free home trial. Hope this helped. %26lt;*)))%26gt;%26lt;Does any body know a really good moisturizing facial wash?

Why does facial hair not grow under my chin?

Haha, i know this a random/stupid question, but i thought i would post it anyway. I have facial hair in the normal spots where it should be, however, right under my chin but above my neck, there is no facial hair, its just skin. Could this be because i tend to lay on it, and put pressure, or maybe the oils from my hands? or is it just genetics?

Thank youuu, and sorry for this question, but hey you're getting points right?

Where and how your facial hair grows mostly depends on genetics, however i do believe men with hair under their chin look ridiculous and shaggy in a bad way so don't worry!!!

Make sure you use a wax that is designated for the face, it doesn't have the harsh ingredients that are found in the others used for the body. It hurts the first few times, You can buy a numbing cream to use as the first step.

AVON has a hair removal cream that would eliminate that pain. but if you are not familiar with waxing it would be best to have it done at a salon. Also if you have very sensitive skin you may bleed or have redness that last for several days.

    * Laser is also liable to cause burning and discoloration and in any case only works effectively on a dark hair/light skin combinantion.

    * Electrolysis is very liable to cause scarring and discoloration of the skin.

Which, like it or not, leaves shaving which does not damage the skin. Best done with a men's-style electric razor, the best of which, for women, are probably those from the men's range of Norelco razors (Philishave outside the US). Most women who try a men's Norelco wonder why nobody ever told them about it before.

Does shaving facial hair every day actually make it grow faster?

No, that's an old wives's tale. It just makes it grow back feeling more stubbly and rough.Does shaving facial hair every day actually make it grow faster?
Im not sure, but i do know that when you start growing facial hair it looks really thin and 'bum fluff'

but once you start shaving it it does grow back thicker with age, like normal people, stubble.Does shaving facial hair every day actually make it grow faster?
Hair grows at the same rate unless the hair is broken or split itself.
nope cuz think of ppl who shave their heads...it doesnt grow back super fast
    No that's a myth.

How many of you women like men with facial hair?

if you do, please specify what kind, such as mustache only or goatee with mustache, etc... oh, and if you can, also specify whyHow many of you women like men with facial hair?
Lighter haired guys - blonds, mouse brown, strawberry blond etc; Mustache%26amp;goatee. I just think it looks good. I honestly couldn't explain it if I tried.

Darker hair - dark browns/black etc: stubble, but no definition so no tache, no goatee etc.. I think guys with dark hair and a round face tend to suit a clean shaven face and a stubbly neck/chin but if the guy has good cheekbones/strong jaw, keep the stubble going from the distance halfway between the cheek and the jaw to where the chin becomes the neck, but none on the neck.

I think it also depends on the guy's skin colour.. For example, a really really dark skinned black guy I know has a beard that's basically identical to captain jack's in pirates of the caribbean, plaits and all.. And it looks hot on him, but I just don't like the idea of it on white guys (including Johnny Depp unless he's dressed as a pirate).

If a guy has his hair dyed an unnatural colour (bright red, bright pink, blue, purple etc) I'd say stubble again with no defined tache or goatee etc.. But then a guy friend of mine has naturally got hair the colour of red biro ink. His bro has the same colour also and looks awesome with a goatee, whereas my friend goes clean shaven and looks great too.

Usually guys with middle-tone hair/the ginge I prefer clean shaven or very very faint stubble..

Also it's totally dependant on the style of the hair on your head.. My friend with the Captain Jack beard also has dreadlocks, and that's probably a contributing factor to why it works so well. And mustaches on guys with super short hair doesn't really work.. But if you're bald and have no facial hair you look kind of like you have alopecia...

I had no idea I had so many opinions on facial hair. Jeebus.

But facial hair is such a subjective thing. I'd say just do what you like or ask your girlfriend what she likes, and go with that or make a compromise. How many of you women like men with facial hair?
    I prefer goatees.

Its not messy, or too shaven.

BUT, some guys look better completely shaved, and some look better with everything.

so it really depends on the guys face :)
i dont like men with mustache....they look better and nice if they are clean shaved
idc as long as it looks good ;)

Does getting facial hair mean that a growth spurt is coming?

I have a lot of facial hair and I shave 3 times a week. I am 14 years 10 months old 5'41/2. My dad is like 5'6 and my mom is 5'0. Does this mean I will get a growth spurt soon? In the past 10 months I have only grown 1/2 an inch. Why am I not growing?Does getting facial hair mean that a growth spurt is coming?
No, facial hair comes from testosterone and growth comes from HGH.Does getting facial hair mean that a growth spurt is coming?
Facial hair and growth spurts are not directly related, they are just two results of the same thing: puberty.

Things happen at different times and rates for each person. At your age, I had begun experiencing several facets of puberty. My voice had already deepened significantly (it was the first thing to happen), and I had my first growth spurt, for example. However, I had very little hair to speak of except for what was on my scalp. Even now, at 21 1/2, I am only just beginning to grow arm, chest, and facial hair. It just happens to be the last thing to happen for me.

I had my last growth spurt almost five years ago, and stopped growing completely three years ago, so obviously, facial hair is a terrible indicator for growth spurts.
UH-oh....my son has grown past his growth spurt before having those tell-tale facial hair. He is now 16 and almost 6 ft tall...he began his growth spurt at the age of 13 and it slowly stopped at the age of 15..(at 5ft 10 inches tall)...now, he's having those little facial hair growing, he's 5ft 11.5inches at the age of 16
Growth spurts can happen any time during adolescence. The peach fuzz may or may not be related, but it's a good sign that you're developing at a normal pace. I didn't really spurt until I was 16. Be patient, but do realize that you're not going to be much taller than your dad, so don't expect to suddenly be a walk-on center!
If you are a female, I think it means that menopause has arrived. I have seen a lot of hairy short guys in my life, and I just read an answer that said the more you shave the longer, thicker and darker your hair will grow back, so I am at a loss. I do know enough from med school to tell you that you don't stop growing for at least another four years, so don't worry about it!
well most men stop growing in their twenties so sorry but you still have some time to wait. Girls go through puberty earlier and much quicker where as the boys do it gradually and over alot of years.Hang in there.
Bonjour! probably not a growth spurt.....but puberty...unless u propbably got it already....it really just means that you r growing...not to a growth spurt though
yea, it means your on your way.dont worry, you will grow more.

Why are facial expressions internationally understood?

A smile is a smile in every country, and a laugh is a laugh in every country. A furrowed brow and tight lips is pretty well understood in any country... why are these all basically understood no matter what language is being spoken? Even across different species, we can tell dog emotions by posture and response... I suppose an exception might be fish, but most mammals we can understand basic body posture and emotion. Why?Why are facial expressions internationally understood?
Humans are born with at least 6 different facial expressions that are universally recognizable. These are anger, fear, disgust, happiness, surprise, sadness. Researchers also indicate that 'contempt' may be a possible 7th emotion that appear from birth.

There are many other facial expressions that we recognize too, but these seem to be the ones that appear across all cultures. Perhaps the reason we are so good at interpreting facial expressions is because the basic ones, at least, are ingrained in our genetic coding. Are we good at reading the signals of other animals? I guess so, for the most part - most people can tell if a dog or horse is about to play with them or about to attack them. Perhaps our knowledge of human expressions is extrapolated to other species to a certain extent, allowing us to visually determine the mood of other creatures. Why are facial expressions internationally understood?
E-dot is right.. but I don't really agree with the fact that we understand facial expressions no matter from what culture.. try to watch a chinese or japanese movie.. to me it's even a bit scary not to be able to ';read'; the body language.. to me it seems there sometimes is some sort of a conflict between the facial expression and the emotion conveyed by the (translated) text.. like people looking angry while making a joke, or being very upset while still having a smile on their face..
because we were all taught them when we were young children, so everyone understands them. It is a way we have of communicating with anyone, and a lot of other animals change the way they are looking to signify their emotions, so it must be partly natural to do these things to portray our emotions.
Because most non-verbal communication is universal.

Is there any exercises that will improve your facial features?

Well only surgery will change your facial features, makeup can improve them.

There are exercises that will improve muscle tone therefore help prevent sagging, wrinkles and general wear and tear. They are to be done in private as they involve pulling ridiculous faces and people will think you're insane.

Here are 4 that I do.

    1. stick out your lower jaw, force yourself to smile, while baring your lower teeth, hold for a count of 5, relax and repeat 10 times. You look mental, but this improves firmness of the jawline, minimises sagging and helps reduce a double chin.

    2. open mouth, lower jaw as far as you can, stick out tongue downwards, hold and repeat as above. This is good fpr wrinkles round the mouth, in particular the 'marionette' grooves that can form from the sides of the nose down the side of the mouth.

    3. one you can do in public, mouth shut, push tongue hard in to the roof of the mouth. Good for firming jawline and double chin. You can feel the pull upwards.

    4. Raising eyebrows sharply and hold for 5 counts, relax ,repeat can help reduce saggy eye lids, keeping a more youthful, open look.

Other considerations are weight, too much extra weight can cause a double chin regardless of exercises and your features will look smaller. Underweight and you are liable to wrinkle more as fat pushes out your lines to a degree. Rapid weight loss and gain, especially as you age will increase sagging also.

There are some good books on facial exercises.

Facercise (lousy title) carol maggio, and Eva Fraser, if you search her products has been writing about this for ages.Is there any exercises that will improve your facial features?
Wow, no... I don't think so.Is there any exercises that will improve your facial features?
Actually, there is no proper excersise for improving facial features... U have to apply facial creams and massage ur skin... no excersises can do improvement in facials..
Yes, a smile would do the trick :) (and some bright spontaneous laughter too). Have a nice day!
No, unless your ';facial features'; are things like enough body fat that you can't actually tell the bone structure in your face.

I was really fat when I was growing up. I lost a lot of weight when I was 19. My face went from round and pretty much shapeless to having a pretty nice, defined heart shape with good cheekbones.
No, but if your overweight, your face could lose weight. and just look thinner.

Some east-asian girls have those delicate, feminine facial feature that no other girls can match,do you agree?

Add to the top a clear and smooth skin, they are the standard of beauty today and there after. Some east-asian girls have those delicate, feminine facial feature that no other girls can match,do you agree?
i agreeSome east-asian girls have those delicate, feminine facial feature that no other girls can match,do you agree?
A lot of East Asian women have beautiful skin and eat very healthy (not all). A lot of them also have features that a lot of men find attractive from all over the world.

I think there is a lot more to their personalities though. For the most part a lot of them know how to retain a good balance of good manners, femininity while being independent and/or a supportive girlfriend/housewife at the same time unlike a lot of Western women.

I'm pretty sure that East Asian women are more than capable of being looked at as one of the best models of the 'perfect' woman to a lot of men.
LOL I'm half Korean so I'm a little biased, but yes, Asian women are beautiful and forever young!

My mom is in her 60s and people think she's in her 40s.

She hardly has any wrinkles, people always thinks she has botox, but she's never had anything done.

Asian skincare routines are very detailed and use things we don't have here in the States sometimes.

All my friends have nice skin too, mines not too bad.

I hope I look like my mom when I'm her age...
Yes I agree. Not only are they very pretty; they're also very youthful. I've been to China recently, and I had the hardest time guessing people's age!

A young woman I thought to be in her twenties, turned out to be 45 ,married, with two teenage boys! The asian women seem to age slower, or perhaps they're just overall healthier.
    Definitely.
True most of them have such lovely skin and youthful looks.
well it comes down to personal preference. i don't really go for asian chicks. I like the slim trim American Blonde..............all day long baby!
yeah I agree, they are really pretty.
yeah i know they always have the best skin thats for sure

Which facial cleanser do you recommend most for oily combination skin?

which facial cleanser do you recommend most for oily/combination skin without any acne or pimple problems BUT basically with oily T-zone and blackheads problem? thank you for your recommendations!Which facial cleanser do you recommend most for oily combination skin?
i have exactly the same skintype as you, and i've used soo many cleansers (i get them all from my work, sephora). i can honestly say that the formula of a cleanser has such little impact on your skin, you can probably get away with anything. i've used gels, foams, creams, cleansing milks, even cleansing OILS, and nothing has caused a change in my complexion in the least.. all-in-all, i really do think it all just goes down the drain. what really matters is what type of products you use afterward, like toners, moisturizers, serums, etc.

it sounds pretty counterintuitive, but i've really enjoyed using cleansing oils the most out of the bunch. most of them are made of highly-purified mineral oil that doesn't clog pores the way something like baby mineral oil would. you massage the oil on your dry face, and as it removes your makeup (even waterproof, which is a huge plus), i think the oil really does break down the oil on my face and creates a comfortable balance. afterward, you just add water and it becomes water soluble so you can just rinse it off. i've been using shu uemura's cleansing oils and i LOVE them.

other kinds you could also try are:

philosophy purity made simple (a cream that also removes makeup)

clinique rinse-off foaming cleanser (cleanses very thoroughly, but can feel a little drying)

fresh soy face cleanser (smells very earthy, great for sensitive skin)

ole henriksen african red tea foaming cleanser (packed with antioxidants and smells freaking delicious)

sorry for the novel, i can't sleep hahaWhich facial cleanser do you recommend most for oily combination skin?
We are two of a kind. I have the same skin type as you and I find that i get the best results when i use E3 Light Polish once a week and I use Kiss my Face Exfoliating cleanser, pore shrink deep pore cleansing mask, breakout botanical acne gel,and cell mate 15 facial creme %26amp; sunscreen to moisturize. The results have been wonderful so far. Kiss my face also has a really cool sample kit you can purchase and you can try out all the products before buying the full size bottles.
    I recently brought.

Dove Gentle Exfoliating daily facial cleanser.

It works really well but i have dry skin so i have to use moisturizer afterwards, my friend carly also has this i brought it because it worked so well for her, her skin is oily/combitnation and it works great.

I have seen results in less than a week.
Use glycerin soap (Neutrogena makes a good one) for daily washing. Once a week, use a clay mask to control the oil. The mask brings the impurities to the surface, where you can then gently remove them with a sugar scrub and warm water.
you should ask the staff from watsons , or any other face-products shop . they know it the best , use oil blotting paper too .

What facial cleanser do you guys use for oily skin?

An oily skin , as the name implies, is one in which the sebaceous or oil-producing glands are over active. As surface grease tends to attract dirt, an oily skin acquires a dirty surface film , that needs to be removed daily. For more details log to http://useinfo-oilyskin.blogspot.com/

Not a lot of women like to talk about it, but it鈥檚 something many deal with on a daily basis. For these women, facial hair is an embarrassing problem that won鈥檛 go away.

There are many options available to correct this problem, but some can be costly and painful. Some treatments work better than others, but aren鈥檛 always one hundred percent effective. We all want soft, hair-free, and unblemished skin. What鈥檚 a girl to do?

    Why

The reasons why women get hair growth on their facial area varies. Many times it is simply a matter of genetics. Does your grandmother or even your mother have a mustache? If so, you may one day have the same problem.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome affects up to 10% of all women of reproductive age. One annoying symptom of PCOS is excessive hair growth. While this is not true of all PCOS patients, up to 75% of them will see this in one form or another. This hair will not always appear on the face, but quite often it shows up on the upper lip or on the chin.

Some women just have darker hair than others. We all have a fine layer of hair on our faces, but some women鈥檚 just grows thicker and darker than others.

Some women will develop facial hair once they reach menopause. It鈥檚 quite common, and comes in relation to the hormonal changes that are taking place inside your body.

    Options

Bleaching: I have a friend who, due to her ancestry, has a very faint mustache. She buys a bleaching kit at her local supermarket and bleaches the hair on her upper lip. If she hadn鈥檛 told me about it, I never would have noticed. If you have fine hair on your face that is just a bit too dark for your liking, this is a great option for you. This process is quick and painless, though you should never bleach when your skin is irritated.

Shaving: I鈥檝e heard all my life that shaving will cause hair to grow back thicker and darker. This really isn鈥檛 true. The hairs will not get thicker or darker, but the razor will cut off the fine tip of the hair. When this happens the hair appears to be thicker and darker, but in reality it鈥檚 just got a flat tip on it. This gives it a thicker, fuller appearance. The best way to get rid of facial hair?

You need to have a look at your diet - the diet doctors book is very good and can you tips on what foods are bad for the skin, and whether you have a food allergyAll of my years as a teenager i have had a beautiful and nice facial skin but all of a suden i have developed
You should try Arbonne! They have some wonderful skin care products that cleared my skin up in less than a week. They also have a hormone cream that helps balance your hormones so you will not get the acne breakouts. I also love that they are botanically-based and do not have the harsh chemicals and metals that many skin care lines have. I use both the skin care and the makeup and everyone noticed the difference in my complexion, with or without makeup. The products will be available in the UK next week.
Do you wear makeup? I suggest wearing mineral makeup if you do. You can ask your doctor about birth control pills. They are suppose to clear your skin up. Sounds to me like you have adult acne. I had the exact same thing happen to me. I didn't start really breaking out until I was in my late 20's early 30's and I still have very sensitive skin. I try to keep it clean and only use mineral makeup. It helps A LOT! Here's a link to my website www.perfectearthminerals.com

    See a dermatologist.
this happened to me last easter when i was on holiday

the pharmacist suggested strong anti-allergy cream and to stay out of the sun

i think mine was an allergic reaction (it looked like acne and i thought it would scar)

it has healed up now - go and get some advice from a pharmacist
are you taking any tablets such as the pill?? my skill was lovely up until i changed my pill its got better now im taking some skin hair nail vitamins and i seem to have my clear skin back just amke sure you moisturise 2-3 times a day
Try Witchhazel its fab use twice a day, I had spots for a while and within days they went I still use it just in case. Good luck!!
I would recommend MD Formulations facial skinwash containing glycolic acid. I am a 22 year old beauty therapist and I used to suffer from lots of pimples and clogged pores until I started using this product. Its good for all skin types.

I'd tried all sorts of face washes, lotions etc, but this stuff the business! My skin is so clear now and everyone notices.

I paid about 拢20 for a 250ml size, which I don't think is too bad, but unless u can find it on ebay you can only buy it in salons.

Also i noticed somebodyelse mentioned mineral make up: i also use this and it really helps prevent clogged pores and skin irritaion. i use ';id bare minerals';.

    Hope this helps.
tea tree oil is great for pimples.
you could be alergic to something in your diet.. i would recomend cutting out bread and dairy for a week or two and see if that helps.. or maybe you have eaten or drank something different recently that you have had a reaction too.. wash your face just using warm water and stay away from make up and see if that helps.. good luck
Your body is going through another phase of hormonal changes which can bring about an outbreak.

Consider leaving the petro-chemical creams alone. Most contain ingredients that are known to cause all kinds of problems, from cancer to birth defects to liver damage and more when dermally absorbed into your body.

    Try this instead...

Wash with plain, natural soap with no petro-chemicals. Soap breaks open most bacteria cells and combines with oils to remove the excess, no all, just the excess, from your skin.

After washing and blotting dry, pour some witch hazel on a clean rag and wipe your face down gently. This will help control the bacteria that is associated with acne.

Finish off with a touch of light vegetable oil on the dry areas to help keep your cells lubricated and healthy. All cells need fat. Feed your cells to keep them healthy. Cells don't eat petro., they might be starving...

Does if matter if i put my eyeliner on my upper or lower lid? does it have to do with my facial features?

i've been putting it very litghtly on my lower lid. i have darkish skin (not african american kind of dark, im half hispanic so im white but have a darker tone) dark brown eyes, dark dark eyelashes, and dark brown hair. and an ovalish face.Does if matter if i put my eyeliner on my upper or lower lid? does it have to do with my facial features?
You can put it on the top and bottom, or top only, or bottom only. It creates different looks so experiment since all eye shape is different. For me, since I have big round eyes, eyeliner makes it smaller and almond shape.Does if matter if i put my eyeliner on my upper or lower lid? does it have to do with my facial features?
You will have a more bright eyed allusion if you add a bit of liner to the outer upper lid and a dot of white or cream colored shading to the inner upper lid. Just doing the lower sometimes gives a sickly look, like dark shadows, no upward curve to enliven the expression.
You can put it on both but lightly if you are putting mascara. If you only put it on the bottom you can go a little darker.
i like to put eyeliner on my lower lid

i think that its too difficult to put eyeliner on the upper lid

you should wear it on the lower lid with some mascara and eye shadow

    i hope this helps
if your white, put in on your lower lid lightly, and nothing on your upper lid, and if your black, you don't need any! ( unless your going to a date or prom or somethin) and if your in the middle, then ,maybe some on your lower lid and some on your upper lid( lightly, so you don't look like your have black eyes!)

    HOPE THIS HELPS!! BYEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Bottom Lid is mucho easier.

Upper lid is hard considering the eyelashes =)
Put it on the upper lid. Putting it only on the lower lid makes your eyes look puffy. Putting it on the upper lid makes your eyes pop.
Oh, yes. Your type of coloring can handle the liner on your lower lid. Don't use black though. Use a brown or even khaki color. Line close under and in lower lashes. Then take a clean cotton swab and smudge very lightly. You will be beautiful and dramatic. Lucky you!
lower eyelid can make nose look bigger.

    upper eyelid only is better
    putting it on your lower lid, makes u look darker, and older, while upper lid makes your eyes apper ';chinkier';
You have a lot of dark going on there, and adding a light amount of eye liner to your upper lid is okay if applied right....so many young women apply it to thick and it really does look tacky...you want to use make up to enhance your natural beauty....not wash you out or make you look to hard. Don't forget to add a little color to your eyelids such as a forest green or bronze colors.....

Does PetLand allow its employees to have facial piercings?

I am about to go to my petland interview on Monday but i just got my eyebrow pierced on Tuesday. i need to know if they are neutral or against piercings so i know whether i should leave it, put in a retainer, or just take it out!Does PetLand allow its employees to have facial piercings?
I don't think I've ever seen a petland employee have a facial piercing, not to say they don't have them of course. I would definitely take it out for an interview though. It's best to make a good first impression and later ask the policy on facial piercing.

What facial cleaner is the best?

i dont have really bad breakouts, but when i get them i think its because my facial cleaner isnt working well. ok which out of these is the best? and if you use something else that works well, adn you can get it anywhere and its not to expensive, PLEASE SHARE

    - neutrogna

    - clean and clear

    - olay

    * i will choose best answer and answer any of your questions! What facial cleaner is the best?
Personally, I loooove Neutrogena. I have two different cleansers by them. One is a gentle cleanser--the orange one--and the other one is a blue microbead deep cleanser that I use once a week. They both work really well and I'm a huge fan.

This is neither here nor there, but the Neutrogena makeup remover wipes in the blue container are also the most amazing things ever, lol.

So I definitely vote for Neutrogena!!What facial cleaner is the best?
The best skin care products to use are those that have no fragrance what so ever in them bc those can irritate your skin and actually cause break outs. The Absolute best products to use are ones with natural ingredients, like Aveno and Berts bees products (you can find both at target and they are the same price as nutragena products).

Also some other people said that you should exfoliate everyday, which is not at all good for your skin, especially if you have sensitive skin. Exfoliating every other day or once a week is best bc you face excretes oils that your skins needs, and exfoliating everyday dries your skin and rids it of these Essential oils!! and extra dry skin can cause breakouts just as bad as oily skin can!

you should however wash your face twice everyday and moisturize with something that is also fragrance free.

I use and LOVE Aveno products. I use the foam skin clearing cleanser, it dries out blemish's without drying out your skin! and they also have a moisturizer in the skin clearing line that is amazing!

and honestly the best exfoliant to use you can make at home with honey and sugar...all natural! and it works amazing and wont dry your skin out and it smells amazing! my boyfriend loves to kiss me after i use it!
I have been a lifetime user of Clinique, and I love it. In high school I used to have really bad and ugly breakups, and it completely cleared it up in two weeks.

Neutrogena is just as good, but its not the brand, its the routine. You should always clean your face twice a day, exfoliate, and moisturize.

Always wash your face before bed.

For more information like this check out my blog at ladysweetface.blogspot.com
Every morning I use Acne Free Purifying cleanser(2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide), then I use Acne Free Spot Treatment(10% Benzoyl Peroxide) And then I put on Clean and Clear Oil-Free Acne Moisturizer(.5% Salicylic Acid) and it seems to have worked pretty well so far :]
i use clean and clear morning burst cleanser in the morning and then i exfoliate once every week. make sure you are moisturizing every night. :)

Is it ok to already have a facial cleaning/whitening/mask after 3 mnths of giving birth via Ceasarian Section?

because here in manila they say after giving birth and do those stuffs will only cause you ';binat'; or reoccurring of sickness like headache etc. Is it ok to already have a facial cleaning/whitening/mask after 3 mnths of giving birth via Ceasarian Section?
Hm... I thought I answered this already. Facials are fine. It's massages that aren't good to have if you've had a C-Section. Old wives' tales are always misleading so it's easy to understand being worried. :)Is it ok to already have a facial cleaning/whitening/mask after 3 mnths of giving birth via Ceasarian Section?
My mom used to tell me those kind of things all the time. All old wives tales! Go ahead and treat yourself to a facial if you have time.
i dont see that becomming a mother would make a difference!

Should be fine. Ask the beautician

Is there a natural way to remove facial moles?

like, is there some strange herb that removes them, or at least makes them unnoticeable? i can't go to the doctor's to get them removed, as i have a very very very low pain threshold and i can't stand needles, and apparently the scarring is worse than the mole itself. i'm not sure if 'home remedies' actually work, but i'd like to try? please serious answers only :) thankyou.

.. has anyone tried any products? :)

thankyou,Is there a natural way to remove facial moles?
Unfortunately there is no known home type remedy to remove moles. What you can do is to get a topical product from the pharmacy which is nitrogen based and burns off the mole.

There will be a small dark scar where it used to be but it eventually evens out on your skin.

Or you can use a professional skin lightener or some lemon juice mixed with honey and or yogurt before you go to bed at night which will lighten the scar eventually. Is there a natural way to remove facial moles?
nope and i wouldn't try to as it could lead to serious problems

Whats the difference between tea tree oil facial wash and tea tree oil?

i bought both of them and i was told to use the tea tree oil facial wash during the shower and then after the shower i use the tea tree oil with the a q-tip, whats the difference? how long does it take to workWhats the difference between tea tree oil facial wash and tea tree oil?
One is meant to wash away, while the other is meant to leave in, or condition, most likely.

Anyhoo, there was a recent report about tea tree oil causing young men develop breasts. IDK if it does anything to girls, but I'd avoid it, if u r a dude.

Besides, dudes don't need anything remotley this fancy, to wash themselves with.

Unless....you know.Whats the difference between tea tree oil facial wash and tea tree oil?
Well Im not exactly what you are trying to treat, but the facial wash has tea tree oil IN it, as an ingredient. And the bottle of tea tree oil IS the actual concentrated oil. Thats why you put it on a q-tip to apply it directly to the area.

    It depends upon proportion.

I have small ears, small lips and I guess a medium nose, and I'm fine with that.Would you rather have small or big facial features?
I prefer bigger lips, but my lips are all ready full like perfect, I like my nose the it is, and I do not want big ears!!!!

Is facial scrub good or bad for acne?

If it contains oil?Is facial scrub good or bad for acne?
I say any scrub is bad, regardless if it has oil or not. GENTLY rub your skin with a soft washcloth to exfoliate...you might not even have to do it everyday.

I know where you're coming from with the acne and wanting to scrub thing. I would leave it alone, then I would just be like ';F**k it.'; and scrub it like crazy--only to wake up the next day with my skin all irritated. :/

Is facial scrub good or bad for acne?
    Hello,

Yes %26amp; No, if it cleanses your skin leaving it smooth and non oily, it helps, but not much. It just removes the oil from your face.

    BUT:

beware of what some facial gels have in them (like nivea visage etc)

if they have sodium laureth sulfate in them, dont get it,

SLS is linked to cancer, accumlulating in your organs, and its a skin %26amp; eye irritant which may cause allergic reaction.
ill try scrubbing my acne before cause i thought that was effective but i suggest u dont do it cause it can only worsen your acne ill try using every soap in the market but still i found that safeguard is still the best for me i suggest try a soap that you used before wen you dont have a acne sometimes acne also appear when we change our soap.

What facial cleansers are good for young skin?

Young skin needs a mild cleanser. Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser is great for young skin because it doesn't dry out the skin but cleans impurities. Plus models and celebrities use it too :)

Proactiv works like a charm however only their advanced blemish treatment stuff. Also, mix lemon juice, honey, and vegetable oil together (about equal parts, add more or less of one if you like) apply it all over your face, and leave it on for at least a good 10 minutes then wash off. Any of the brands will work differently on someones unique skin type. You can check the labeling to see which suits your skin issue. Although if it is young skin...meaning your in puberty....then don't bother with it will go away when your older. Just wash your face 2 a day with warm water.
    Me,

It depends on what type of skin you have. I use Coonobabe's Pepino cleanser followed by their Manzanillo toner. Wash with cleanser then pat dry with clean towel, then apply toner with cotton pad, and allow to air dry. I suggest you use a cleanser/toner combo. It's more effective this way. Check them out and pick out the cleanser/toner appropriate to your skin. http://www.coonobabe.com

  • What is a good home-made facial mask for combination skin??

i have combination skin and its so hard to choose from all the producs on the market today. What is a good home-made facial mask for combination skin??
    Combination Skin Type

Most of us have a combination skin. The middle of the face (patches on the forehead, the nose and the chin) is shiny with dilated ostia and a coarse texture. The rest of the face is either normal or dry. Sometimes, the difference between the two areas is great; if such is the case with your skin, then you would have to treat each part of the face accordingly - the dry areas as for dry skin and the central face as for oily skin.

    Caring for Combination Skin Type

If your face is partly oily and partly dry, you've got combination skin and there are several ways to care for it so that you can keep both types balanced and looking good.

Use a mild cleanser on your entire face up to twice a day.

Use a good moisturizer on the dry areas. - Moisturizers work by either increasing the penetration of water into the skin or by reducing the rate at which water is evaporating from the skin surface.

Look for products that normalize your skin, such as those that contain alpha hydroxy acids - Alpha hydroxy acids are derived from fruit, milk and sugar cane and have antiinflammatory properties. When applied to the skin they help remove dead skin cells (exfoliate), giving a younger appearance.

Use oil-absorbing makeup on oily areas to control shine.

    Use a sunscreen, minimum SPF.

    Cleaning

Face mask is only applied only on a clean skin. Use cleansing cream or cleansing-milk to clean the face. If your skin is oily, wash it with soap and tepid water. If the skin is dry, wipe cream with cotton swabs.

    Steaming

Next comes steaming. Steaming helps in opening of the pores, thus the skin gets the full benefit of face mask. Take a broad pot and boil water in it. Cover your face with a big towel and put it on the mouth of the vessel. You can put peppermint, rose-petals, mint-petals or petals of marigold in the water, if you so desire. Dry your face by patting it gently.

    Face Mask

The last step in facial process is face mask and it is also very important You can buy face mask from the market or from internet but you can also prepare it at home. If you are using the market product, then you must read all the instructions on the label very carefully before use. Apply the paste on your face and neck leaving the portion'

below your eyes. Place cotton wool swabs dipped in rose water on your eyes and lie down calmly. As long as the paste is on your face do not smile or talk. If possible, keep your feet at a higher level.

    * Homemade Face Mask for Combination Skin

A rose-based mask is perfect for balancing out the oily and dry areas of your skin.

    6 rose petals

    2 tbsps rosewater

1 tbsp natural yogurt (go for full-fat %26amp; skip the flavored ones)

1 tbsp naturally runny honey (you can warm honey in a microwave for 8 seconds to get it runny. Plus, we find the warmth is particularly soothing for this mask).

Soak rose petals, then crush them in a bowl. Add the rosewater, yogurt and honey.

Don't have the rose petals? No problem. Mix well %26amp; apply to the skin. Leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse.

    * Normal, combination skin, oily and blemished skin

Mix one egg white, 1/2 cup cooked instant oatmeal, a teaspoon olive oil and a few drops of lemon juice until smooth. Spread on your face and neck, leave on for 15 – 30 min then rinse with lukewarm water. Few drops lemon juice will help to reduce blackheads while egg white will leave your skin feel “tight” after this mask application. What is a good home-made facial mask for combination skin??
    An egg...

the yellow is great for the drier part of your face

the white is great for the oilier areas

Break in a dish, mix with a fork, apply, wait, and peel off.
    cumshot works the best
Egg yoke is really good for combination skin. Leave it on for 15 minutes, it will turn hard and begin to crack, then wash it off!

It smells, but it works and helps exfoliate!
one time i read in vogue that if you use bananas and honey mixed with egg whites it works really good. i normally use lemmons and egg whites because i have freckles!~

Egg whites are the best, because they soften the skin and do not make it oilyer. You have to whip them with an wire whip or egg beater to make them foamier and then just pat in on our face. leave on for about five minutes and wash off with warm water, volla.

Not to be gross but the person who answered first is correct. Semen has tons of proteins and vitamins that would give you the best complexion. My nursing instructor told me this and it is true. I know that the thought of it may be repulsive, but give it a try if you are sexually active with a steady and safe partner. If this is not an option, try mixing a little olive oil, oatmeal, sugar, and pure maple syrup. Not only does it moisturize and clean, it is edible!
Neutrogena has a good line of masks and cleansers for combination skin. Just go to a drugstore and look at what they have and you'll probably be able to find something. If you feel like splurging, go to a make-up counter at the mall and ask what you should try. This month's Seventeen has a good article on what to use. At a drugstore you can find little packets of facials goop and such so try looking for stuff like that. I just got a moisturizer from Neutrogena for combination skin and it is phenomenal, you just have to look for it! You could also consult a dermatologist to find out what you should be looking for. good luck!

mix raw honey (from a health food store) turmeric, ground orange peel (to exfoliate), bentonite clay, lemon juice, cinnamon, and a few tablespoons of cornstarch. Add a few drops of an unscented baby wash, like Johnsons head to toe. This is a jazzed up recipie from Cleopatra's beauty secrets. The only additive is the J%26amp;J wash for extra cleansing, which can be omitted at your discretion.

I have a scar right on top of my right lip about 4-5 CM as well, I had it now for about 20 years, it use to bother me when I was young, till I notice that I had an advantage when I notice my first girl friend always kissing my scar .... Somehow it just attracted a certain kind of females to me. all the females that I knew are are hot from top to bottom , smart , risk taker and not afraid to try . . all have one thing in common which they all were attracted to the scar some thought it was sexy, some thought it's a sign of strength, but remember the key to having a scar is confidence and maintain eye contact at all levels. basically live up to your image , Love your scar it's part of you and consider your self lucky YOU HAVE THE MARK OF A MAN.Do girls Care about a small facial scar?
Guys and scars are simpatico. Plus, it can be hot if you work it right.
    no i dont care
Ultimately, no. First impressions are important, but it sounds like your scar is far from disfiguring. Women can overlook a lot of things in a man, as long as they are respectful and have a good heart.

(vitamin e oil might lessen the appearance if you are worried about the scar, though)
no but u can improve their appareance with scar creams
no not at all i have a scare on my chin from easter egg hunting and i scratched my chin and all my friends think its cool and it makes u unique
