What do you think about facial tattoos?

I'm a secondary school teacher and I fancy getting 3 little blue stars around my eye area (top of cheekbone, side of eyebrow and above eyebrow) but do you think people would frown upon me doing this? I wear glasses so the arm of my glasses would hide them if I needed them to be hidden i.e. when I'm at work. What do you think about facial tattoos?
I happen to like facial tattoos. Or any tattoos for that matter. But people will definitely give you crap for having them. I am discriminated against all the time for arm tattoos, and facial piercings, so I would think facial tattoos would be about the same as piercings. Only you can't remove the tattoos. It really sucks. But it all comes down to how much you value your job, compared to how much you value your human rights. I really doubt your employers would let facial tattoos slide in a shcool. It will be noticed eventually. So you pretty much either have to pick your career, or pick your beliefs. It's hard to have both sometimes.

I think it sounds really nice though. I love seeing facial tattoos on women, it is very bold and unusual. I hope you can find a way to get around the rules.

As for everyone who says you will regret it, screw them.

What they think doesn't matter, and you were not put on this earth for thier judgement or viewing pleasure. What matters is what you think and how you feel about your appearance.

When people age, they get wrinkles, age spots, thier faces change, everything sags, they look like totally different people than they did in thier twenties. So what difference are three tiny blue stars going to make? They make it sound like the rest of your face will be magazine cover worthy, but those stars will deform into horrible corroded blobs that protrude from your face. Yeah. By the time people regret thier tattoos because they have faded and such, they are already 100 more times depressed that they are no longer young and youthful looking. I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Your big worry is your career. Talk to your administrators about it first. And really, really think long and hard about it. I love tattoos of all kinds, but I realize what a big deal they are. It is permanent and there for life. So make sure you are ready to commit. Just don't let soicety change your mind. Decide for yourself. :)

PS: Try drawing the stars on with eyeliner for a few weeks. It will give you a good idea of how much you would like having tattoos on your face. Just make sure you draw them on everyday! What do you think about facial tattoos?
Many artists won't do facial tattoos, it's just too extreme. I am a tattoo artist, and my husband is a high school teacher. He has tattoos on his wrists, and doesn't have to cover them. Many of his coworkers have visible tattoos, and they don't have to cover them. However, facial tattoos are never a good idea. Your face should be the one place over any other, that you don't mess with. I personally think facial tattoos degrade the art, and make others think it is a rebellious action. People with facial tattoos are seen as extremists, and they are often looked down upon. I think as a teacher, you would have enough common sense not to tattoo your face. Even though my husband's district doesn't have a tattoo policy, if they want to get rid of you, they'll find a way. I'm sure yours would too. Be smart about it, it's your face.
I love tattoos..

I think facial tattoos are a horrible idea.

1- Tattoos aren't quite as socially acceptable as I'd like. People still frown on them, so unless you're set for life, you should keep your tattoos in a place that can be hidden, if needed. (for job interviews, etc). You dont know if you're going to be working in the same place forever, especially if you go ahead with the tattoos on your face idea.

2 - I hate it when people say 'think of how they'll look when you're 612 years old!! - However, your face is exposed to the elements constantly and therefore, ages faster than other parts of your body. An aged , wrinkley tattoo on your arm or leg isn't a big deal. What 80 year old walks around in shorts and tank tops anyway? But an aged wrinkley tattoo on your face? I'd think about that one.
You would more than likely lose your job.

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have a teacher with a tattoo on their face.

I doubt the arm of the glasses would cover it completely ( could be wrong )

Still my suggestion is to not. I don't frown upon people just because they have a tattoo no matter where it is.

BUT I don't agree with facial tattoo's. NO WAY to hide it...ever.

I think with your career choice I would pass on getting it on your face.

Good luck
Teachers probably would frown upon this yes, but if its not against the rules it doesnt matter, if u want it get it..

but i really dislike facial tattoos, in 5 or even 20 years imagin what ur gonna look like with blue stars on your face, even if you dont agree with me now, you'll regret it so bad! it'll look ridiculous when ur like 35-40+

i think tattoos are best in places that arent on show all the time!
I don't like facial tattoos, but that's just me. I have visible tattoos on my arm, and I do get discriminated against for it. But I can also cover them. A tattoo on your face would be extremely hard to completely cover all the time, even with all the makeup and glasses in the world. Can't you just use glitter to spice up the eyes? And get a huge, gorgeous tattoo somewhere else?
I think facial tattoos are stupid, and i don't understand why you'd risk losing your job over this.

Just covering them wouldn't be enough - students have to take piercings etc out,and the same rule applies for teachers.

Even if the rule doesn't apply now - the kids will find out,and i can gurantee they'll kick up a fuss about you being allowed it.
you can get camoflauge kits for tattoos, scars and strech marks.

I love tattoos iv got bout 9 of them but i make sure there covered for work, interviews, and for more formal things.

You can buy camoflauge kits online and work much better than normal foundation for covering up.

I personally wouldnt have a problem with my son being taught by someone with tattoos but some parents might. Covering it up (if you get it) would probly save alot of hassle you may get.
With regards to your profession you will lack credibility. How would a Police Officer be considered if he had a tattoo on his face? (Except it wouldn't be allowed), how about a Surgeon, GP, Nurse, Banker, Trader, Customs Officer? I am suprised you even have to ask the question. In ten years time may hate it. I'm 43 and think back to when I was 33 and I'm completely different. If when I was 33 I'd been given a photo of me as I am now I would have thought, 'What a square'. Now anyone in their 40s still trying to be 'oh so alternative' just appears to be an attention seeker.
are you in the UK ? might be different there, but it is frowned upon in USA. normal people don't get facial tats. semi-normal people don't either.
yes people would ';frown upon you';

teacher should not get facial tats.

and wait for when your older with saggy skin and you have those awesome three little stars by your eyes - yeah thats reeeeeeeeallly coool.

not.
nah, don't be silly, tats are pretty cool but not on the face,u will be seriouosly looked down upon as a teacher. choose another body part.
I don't think you need all the that attention do you
don't do it you'll look a tit AND your a bloody teacher. what sort of roll modal are you to the kids you teach.

THINK BEFORE YOU TYPE OR TEACH FOR THAT MATTER!
Horrific.
