I am 15 and have 20 piercings altogether and lobes at 20mm and just thought I should start thinking now about getting a job.
Would I have to take them out to be an animal welfare worker?
Thanks in advance ^_^What jobs would tolerate multiple facial and ear piercings? ?
It all depends on the company and employers. And also the amount of time you spend with customers.
You will probably have to take most of your facial piercings out. But some employers will allow you to just get smaller jewelery that is less noticeable. You can also get clear plugs for some of your piercings that you can put in while working. I don't know if they have these for all piercings or not.
Just know that before getting piercings and tattoos you should always think about future careers.
Society is becoming more open to body modification but it is a slow process.
Good Luck! =)What jobs would tolerate multiple facial and ear piercings? ?
Employers tend to be more okay with piercings than tattoos on the whole, but with a great deal of facial piercings you'll still be limited. Generally speaking, any job where you're dealing with the public in any way, or anywhere where the piercings may present a health and safety risk, are out the window - although I'm sure there are exceptions both sides of the coin. If you've had the piercings for a while, would taking them out for work not be an option for you, and keeping them to a bare minimum? The ears will probably be fine, but you may get discriminated against for the face, although a simple nose or lip stud alone probably wouldn't be too much problem. I know it'll be a hassle taking them all in and out, but worth it for the right job?
Wow, you're fifteen with that many piercings? Piercings are illegal until you are 18 without parental consent, did you do them yourself? Your body is still developing, you should consider removing the extreme piercings and just keeping a few. I am a shop owner, and I won't hire an artist with a lot of facial piercings. I am older, and have never really gotten into the piercing fad. I have a piercer, but we don't do anything extreme. I am not trying to be negative, but most places that would hire a teenager wouldn't allow piercings like that. Twenty is a lot for such a young person.
Well I work at an Amusement Park, and no one's been asked to remove piercings, that I'm aware of, unless they were working in front of house [the front office].
..But that's a job
not a career.
Retail wouldn't be OVERLY fussed, I don't guess.
Body modification would be a plus.
Or you can work for yourself.
Be a tradeswoman
Artist
Writer
Webpage designer
Graphic designer
Fashion designer
It's not uncommon at all, recently, to find Chef's with mohawks, or a few unsual piercings.
But 20?
Depends on their location.
I think you should just go be a piercing artist ;D
The way you already seem to be headed, you could save THOUSANDS ;D
You would have to cover them or remove them to work in an animal surgery. Maybe not as a feeder/handler though.
A lot of retail, telemarketing, cooking, design (ie. drafts person, photographer etc.) and construction jobs do not have a problem with facial piercings.
Some companies in those areas do have big problems with them, but if you look hard enough you should be able to find a place that will not make you take them out (unless your in a sort of town/city where people don't accept people like you :).
It's not so much the type of job, but the location of the job. I've worked at white collar tech jobs that didn't care about personal expression, and at behind the scenes labor work that had a strict dress code. I recommend moving to a city that praises personal expression (Portland, OR comes to mind).
photography, body mod industry (piercer/tattooist), alternative modeling, own your own business, writer
All of which you are too young to do... and yes you would have to take them out to work in animal welfare.
i have 3 earrings in each ear and my nose pierced and i am a receptionist for a toyota dealership, they don't mind at all.
Next to no level headed employers would hire anyone with that many bits of steel in there face.
Your limited to:
- a piercer or tattooist
- run your own business
- council worker
- go on the doll
- or take them out
Mcdicks :)

Hot Topic Clothing store would hire you , but you would probably need to be a little bit older. They dont care what you look like.
