typically we use them up within a month, two tops.
they won't go bad in that time.
i'd say 6months to a year....or if it smells/looks funky...toss it!

rules are if its an open container and you are dipping your finger in it i wouldnt keep it for more than 2 months.everytime you stick your finger in it you actually contaminate it with germs. have you ever noticed that sometimes your cream smells great when u buy it then a couple of weeks go by and it smells funky,well thats why.if on the other hand its in a pump it should keep for like six months.same rule with makeup.i suggest using a stick or applicator for open tub creams.
